Well I know it has been a long time since my last blog. But, there was a golf course to open! The weather was absolutely beautiful the last 2 weeks. We opened the tee sheet on Sunday March 11th. It was a cool morning but everyone seemed happy at the chance to play. The first cut on the greens happened on Wednesday the 14th and another on the 16th. The greens have been cut 6 times in this two week span. Fairways, tees and Collars were cut the following week March 21st to 23rd. Now the temperatures have dropped right off, so in preparation for that no grass has been cut since Friday March 23rd.
More trees are to be moved this week. I am currently working on a tree report to show the membership why and how everything has been done with the trees.
Lots of you have noticed that I have a new companion, on my golf cart this year. Her name is Lexi she is 7 month old Lab-hound mix. She is a very intelligent dog, but she is young and has a long way to go to behave properly on a golf course. Needless to say we have our good days and bad days.
Here she is having a snooze after she got in trouble for stealing a members golf ball. Her main mission here is to control the geese, but she certainly gives me some comic relief when it is most needed.
